OSPF: unicast instead of multicast explanation?
"If the OSPF link is on a Non Broadcast Multi Access link, such as a frame relay, the OSPF packet will be a unicast rather than multicast." anyone explain this?
This is because FR does not allow multicasting or broadcasting. There is a broadcast command proprietary to Cisco but all it does is send an individual broadcast to every device in the network. This is not a true broadcast.
