Thoughts

Thoughts as of today: this feels like I am trying to dissect a whale. :) There is a ton of information to not only absorb but also a theory to understand behind what is actually happening in the background so it still feel a bit overwhelming even though I have learned or relearned somethings that weren't as clear to me previously such as sub-netting and how a wild card mask works.

  1. This is a slow process but the theory is inching along.

  2. I am also finding that the 2 hours a day is a minimum for me personally upon trying to follow the outline on http://www.in60days.net/

If I have issues with the lab it can take a considerable amount of time correcting and troubleshooting.

  3. I have also discovered it is better for me personally to go through the motions of the lab rather trying to do it without using the walk through until it becomes second nature or suffer the possible consequences of using up all the time allotted for day on just the lab and then some.

  4. Distractions are definitely an issue with this 60 day two hour a day class. I have had work interfere, family in town over Memorial Day, Best friend from Arizona in town as well and everyone wants to do things at night.

  5. I was able to configure the EIGRP challenge lab without issues. That always makes for confidence booster when the lab goes right from scratch without the need to trouble shoot.

  7. The further along I get in the 60 day course the more value I place on redundancy. learning to set up a network accurately is like becoming good at math. You have to practice, practice practice, or you will become a victim of stupid mistakes.
